This painting was inspired by a dozen roses I received for Valentine’s day. The sunlight bright peachy-yellow faces just felt so heartwarming, that I had to capture it on canvas. I did not copy the bouquet but used it as an inspiration. When I finished the painting and counted the roses on the canvas, there were 13 of them in the vase. Well, that just did not feel right. I painted one away from the bouquet and added it to the bottom of the painting. Hence, the title of the painting.
